The JD Karel Collection is the culmination of a lifelong passion and experience in photography. We are committed to providing exceptional fine-art photography and wall-decor solutions. We value business-to-business collaborations, and our small-business model enables a personalized, consultative approach.JDK was founded by Jaimi DeFeo and Bruce Karel, a wife-and-husband team. The business combines Jaimi's talent as a photographer, keen eye for detail, and understanding of the artistry behind every image with Bruce's accomplished retail management and extensive customer service experience. They blend creativity and expertise to deliver original, beautiful visual creations alongside friendly client service.

Jaimi has been capturing images since she took her first photography class in high school which is when she learned about working in a black and white darkroom.
Her exploration of the art continued at the New England School of Photography in Boston before she began traveling, working, and moving around the country: New York, Los Angeles, Florida, Washington D.C.
Early in her career, she gained valuable experience by working for commercial photographers, managing and working at professional photo labs, owning a photography studio, and doing photo research for the "Environment" website at National Geographic.
Jaimi also has a Master's degree in Environmental Studies and teaches college courses in environmental science and ecology. With JD Karel Photography, Jaimi is returning to her roots and love of photography and printing. Although darkrooms are no longer used, the intimacy and creativity of working with an image remain, and the technology allows so many more options than it once did.
JDK is excited to expand the business services to work with other businesses as a wholesale resource and is offering great deals with collaborating businesses.

Custom Wall Decor: From canvas and fine art paper prints to framed artwork, we create personalized wall decor that enhances any space. We can enlarge your work to make it look like art, or you can purchase one of our pieces.
Join the Club: Once you buy your first print from The Collection, you are automatically part of the club. If you paint your walls, move to a new home, or simply want to change things up, trade in any print in great condition and receive a credit toward a new one. This applies only to images from our collection that can be resold, not to images you had printed from your photos.
